South and Central America
|
The Andes Mountains stretch the full length of the continent, from
Venezuela to Patagonia. They contain the highest mountains outside Asia and
encompass an even greater variety of landscapes and mountain types. Active
volcanoes, ice fluted pyramids and immense rock monoliths are just a few
examples of what this fantastic continent has to offer.
The mountains can be anything from Alpine to Himalayan in scale, and their accessibility makes South America an excellent climbing destination for a short trip.

Our South American expeditions include the popular Bolivian Climber which climbs four superb mountains and two expeditions among the stunning peaks of Peru and three choices of volcano expeditions in Ecuador. Aconcagua is the continent's highest mountain and a popular 'trekking peak', which we have climbed every year since 1992. We have extended our climbing on this landmass to include the popular volcanoes of Mexico in North America. These mountains are ideal for those looking for an introduction to high altitude in a short, action-packed two-week trip. |
